a darkness so softly

I shed a tear in solace
I shed a tear for a friend
a tear for the darkness
that lightens their heavy shackles
understanding only brings conflictions,
and rarely does our anger
change anything
but that which is in ourselves.
I shed a tear as a prayer
to a God I owe to greatly
to petition for anything,
what vain are my words
how hollow my deeds
that are seen.
but I shed a tear in solitude
for a friend in a darkness
that overcomes the best
and lays so softly
and weighs so heavy

a stream unto reflect

If I was a trickle
trickle in a stream
as though a memory
once caught in a dream
would you wander unto
the banks of solace reflection
and quench to remember
our time as thee
