upon the stars

Perhaps the birds sing

Because they are lonely

But maybe lonely

Ain’t a bad thing to be

Perhaps the beauty of

The sunrise and sunset

Is the envy of light

For the darkness of the night

possibly the seas may rage

in envy of the depth

of my love for thee

and rage they always will

the stars know not why

they just shine unaware

of a lonely lovers gaze

as he weeps to keep from a cry

if not the last

Countless stars

Across the sky

They know not

Reason nor why

They just shine

They just shine

Countless poems

I have wrote

About your beauty

Yet I know not why

You just shine

You just shine

As a seaside rock

I sit amazed

By your shore

Your waves do not see

They just roar

They just roar
